Poetry in motion at Rhymney
Move over Simon Armitage Rhymney Comprehensive School has a batch of teenage students who are already on their way to great things. Sixteen Year Eight pupils who put pen to paper have had their poems published in an anthology called “Talkin’ About My Generation South Wales”.
The Book is being published by the Young Writers’ Association, and it is a first for Rhymney Comp to submit poems. English teacher Emma Louise Ager entered 30 pupils of her pupil’s poems to be considered in the countrywide competition and 16 triumphed.
Getting their poems in the book are Amber Wood, Carie Heath, Corrie Keir, Bethan Griffiths, Tony Jenkins, and Emma Dufty. Jospeh White, Taylor Jones, Stacey Suggitt, Bradley Rowlands and Rhys Davies will also get to see their names in print. And joining them in the young poets’ book are Dewi Bradley, Kurtis Brown, Levi Williams, Caryn Frayne and Bethany Morgan.
